How much do potatoes cost per kg in Lahore right now?

Aloowala’s farm-direct rate today runs from Rs 48 to Rs 74 per kilogram depending on grade, delivered anywhere in central Lahore on a 50 kg minimum. Mandi retail sits higher because it carries the commission agent and wholesaler margin.

Why do potato rates change through the year?

Punjab’s main crop is planted in October and harvested from January, so rates fall through the harvest and climb through the storage months from June onward. Cold-store stock costs more to hold, and that shows up in the price from mid-year.

Volume changes the number

The rates above are for standing orders in the 50 to 200 kg a week range. Above that we quote individually — a kitchen taking 500 kg a week pays materially less than the board price.

Contract supply for processing grade is priced before planting, so you fix your cost for the season instead of riding the market.
